Barnard To Arrive Early Next Week

Lee Barnard will arrive early next week after picking up a slight knock. The Tottenham striker was expected to sign a long term loan deal at the club today, but that has now been put on hold till after the Bristol Rovers game.

It seems as though Crewe and Tottenham have come to an agreement over the terms of the loan. Barnard will now travel up to Crewe on Sunday evening after receiving treatment at Spurs, and the club hope he will pen a loan deal on Monday or Tuesday.

It means that the 23 year old will miss Saturday's trip to Bristol Rovers, but should make the home tie against Leyton Orient - a club he has been on loan to in the past.

Barnard will become the second striker to sign on loan this month after Chris Dickson completed his one month loan deal today. Dickson is set to make his debut on Saturday.

It's been a frustrating few months for Dario & Steve Holland, having first approached Barnard over two months ago. Hopefully the saga will be at an end by this time next week and Barnard will be in an Alex shirt - but on current form, I wouldn't bet against another twist in the tale!
