Queens Park Rangers are the latest club to be linked with Linfield's young striker Peter Thompson. The Northern Ireland has attracted the attention of Crewe's scouts for the last six months or so though Crewe are believed to be unlikely to move for the striker. Having already poached Poland right back Marcin Kus, Crewe fans will be frustrated if QPR move for yet another of their supposed transfer targets. However, with QPR's financial troubles, it is unlikely that they will be able to meet the asking price. Linfield are holding out for £300,000 and confirmed their resolve after rejecting two bids from Gretna, of £50,000 and £150,000. Barnsley are also watching Thompson, who recently made his debut for Northern Ireland and many anticipate that the striker will move to England in the summer, if he hasn't already done so by the end of this transfer window.
