Lee Barnard Set For The Alex

Radio Stoke have this afternoon named Lee Barnard as the striker possibly set to sign on loan. The Alex had a call from Tottenham this morning to say that they'll allow their young striker out on loan despite an impressive pre-season from Barnard.

Radio Stoke announced the news on the 5PM news bulletin.

It is likely Crewe may have competition for his signature though, with Millwall also showing a long term interest. With The Lions' striker Darren Byfield wanting out, Lee Barnard could be number one target. Although it is understood Barnard would prefer a move to Gresty Road.

The Alex will open talks with the striker over the weekend in the hope of convincing him to sign a long term loan deal.

Could we finally be about to get that much needed striker? Let's hope so!

Hope it is him they sign. But have a feeling he may sign for Millwall, saves him moving to far and stay down south.
