Crewe take on near neighbours Stockport County in the final warm up game to the new season tommorow at the Alexandra Stadium (3pm). The game will be the final opportunity for players to fine tune their game and it it expected that a strong team will start the game.
First choice keeper Ben Williams will return in goal after missing the 2-0 victory against Derby in midweek with a dead leg.
In defence former Exeter duo Danny Woodards and Billy Jones are expected to line up at full back. Julien Baudet and Chris McCready are likely to form the centre half partnership with Danny O'Donnell on the bench.
It is likely that summer recruits Steven Schumacher and Eugen Bopp will both start as will Gary Roberts. The final midfield position will either go to Byron Moore or Neil Cox.
Up Front it is expected that Nicky Maynard will lead the line with either Ryan Lowe or Shaun Miller.
Stockport managed by ex Crewe player Jim Gannon have been in excellent form in pre-season. A 2-2 draw with Hull City was followed up with a superb 6-4 victory against Cardiff last Saturday.
Their pre-season results have been as follows: UCD 1-1 Stockport, Hednesford 0-4 Stockport, Cheadle Heath Nomads 1-7 Stockport, Stockport 2-2 Hull City, Ashton United 2-5 Stockport, Stockport 6-4 Cardiff, Worcester 1-1 Stockport and Woodley Sports 0-0 Stockport.
Both teams start their league campaign next weekend, Crewe take on Brighton whilst Stockport entertain Dagenham & Redbrige. Crewe have conceded only 1 goal at Alsager in Pre-Season whilst Stockport have rattled in 14 goals in 5 games.
