League One Guide - Gillingham

Gillingham have brought in former Crewe fans favourite Efe Sodje who joins from Southend. They will certainly have experienced at the back as they also have Ian Cox at the back.

Another centre half in the shape of Simon King has joined Gillingham in a 200,000 deal from Barnet. He was Barnet player of the season last year and much is expected from the 6ft centre half.

As expected they have lost the talented Matthew Jarvis who has left to join Wolves. His departure will be a big blow to the Kent side, as a result they may struggle to create goals.

They conceded 5 more goals than Crewe did last season, which must be a worry! In total they shipped 77 goals. The defensive reinforcements that have come to the club should help them reduce the number shipped this time round.

Should be a tighter unit in the forthcoming season but doubts remain on whether they will have enough creativity and firepower to make an assault on the League One play offs.

Dean Macdonald gone?? looked a good player to me, has he gone north of the border?
mowen23
Yeah, he's gone to Inverness. He always looked good to us, but quickly became disinterested in our rubbish long-ball football. And who can blame him?
