Injury setback for Rix
Ben Rix has joined Michael O`Connor on the sidelines and will miss the club`s pre-season training camp in Portugal. The 23 year old midfielder will now remain at the Reaseheath training complex where he is receiving treatment for a shin splints injury.
It`s a major blow for the Wolverhampton born player who would have been looking to cement a place in the first team for the forthcoming season. In his six years with the club the talented midfielder has endured terrible injuries and has made just 74 appearances for the first team.
After nearly leaving the club last season he re-established himself in the first team and was rewarded with a new contract. With competition for places at premium with the new summer signings this injury will be a real setback for Rix.
