'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Masters Football

Masters football has gone from strength to strength and is covered by Sky Television over the summer months, last weekend I was watching the North West Masters and I noticed a former player of ours plying his trade for Wigan.

Craig Hignett had also taken part in the Northern Masters and ended up as joint top scorer in that particular region. The top two from each group then go on to the Grand Final at the M.E.N Arena in early September.

So it got me thinking, who would I have in a Crewe Masters Team? Of course, there are plenty of name to choose from and narrowing it down to a final 9 was a difficult task. I have picked my squad below, the only stipulation is the player has to be over 35 years old.

1. Dean Greygoose
2. Rob Jones
3. Shaun Smith
4. Steve Macauley
5. David Platt (Pictured Above)
6. Craig Hignett
7. Ashley Ward
8. Colin Little
9. Rob Edwards

Reckon you can choose a better one? Crewe Vital would like to hear your team selections.

Jason Kearton and Geoff Thomas would have to be considered. Neil Lennon also breaks the 35 year old barrier. Come to think of it, why have we never fielded the team? Is it the PFA that decides? Surely our team would be as good as any.
Dink.
Thought of Kearton but he is back in his homeland of oz, so doubt he would be up for it Geoff Thomas a good one, not sure who decides, stoke and rotherham both fielded teams this year.
