'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Clayton Ince Launches Own Academy

Former fans favourite Clayton Ince has launched his own sports academy in Trinidad & Tobago this week. The shot stopper, who holds the club record for the most clean sheets in one season, said it was one of three life goals.

Ince was so set on his goal that he funded the academy himself, saying he couldn't wait for sponsors to make his dream reality if he could fund it himself.

'The Clayton Ince Sports Academy' will allow Trinidad & Tobago youngsters to engage in sports like football, basketball and netball up to the age of 15.

Based in Maloney for now, Ince hopes that the academy will spread nationwide within time, helping Tridad & Tobago youngsters achieve their goals.

Ince left the Alex in summer 2004 after turning down a new contract. Ince, who has over 60 caps for his country, claimed 20 clean sheets in Crewe's promotion to the Championship in 2002/2003.

After leaving Gresty Road, Ince joined Coventry but after a disaster year at the midland club he dropped to League Two to join Walsall. His first season at Walsall, last season, proved successful as he helped them win the league with 21 clean sheets - a Walsall club record.

Ince could face Crewe for the first time since leaving next season.
