Billy fee looks set for tribunal
The Billy Jones saga looks sets to rumble on, despite ongoing talks between Crewe Chairman John Bowler and his Preston counterpart Derek Shaw, the two clubs have failed to come to an agreement.
Preston value the player at around £350,000 whilst Crewe are looking for a fee in the region of £1,000,000 for the player who has come through the famous Alex Academy and played over 150 games whilst representing England at various Youth levels including being Captain of his country at Under 17 level.
It was thought that the clubs would settle for a figure of around £700,000 but it appears that the clubs are still poles apart in terms of their valuation for the player and the valuation now looks likely to be set by an independent tribunal.
Crewe Manager Dario Gradi has been prepared to go to tribunal for sometime, he feels that the club have a very good case. Tribunals in the past have been known to set relatively low fees but the Crewe camp are confident that they can get more by going to Tribunal.
