Alex To Retain Reds Gate Receipts

Crewe are to keep 100% of the gate receipts from the forthcoming home friendly against Liverpool, helping to contribute to the £100, 000 the Alex have just paid the Reds for their young central defender Daniel O`Donnell.

It is usually custom in friendly matches that the ticket revenue is split, but Liverpool are allowing Crewe to pocket the full amount after the Alex paid an unlikely fee for O`Donnell. With last years visit by the Merseyside giants attracting over 10, 000 fans to the Alexandra Stadium, it is estimated with a similar crowd Crewe could make up to £70, 000.

With Liverpool potentially bringing a team of international stars this time, compared to the absence of their World Cup stars last year, it`s all set up to be a lively pre-season affair at Gresty Road.
