Cochrane Released By Millers

Cochrane signed for the Alex in the summer of 2003 from Heyes after a successful trial at the club and he became an instant success with his no-nonsense style play.

Despite a successful 03/04 season he gradually began to fall out of favour at the Alex with the emergence of the likes of Gary Roberts and Michael O'Connor, he spent 6 games on loan at Gillingham before being released last year.

Cochrane signed for Rotherham not long after being released and had a fairly good season at the Millers, making 30 appearances along side new Alex boy Eugen Bopp, but relegation for Rotherham meant it was best for both parties if Cochrane left the club with a year left on his contract. He is being linked with a move to Leyton Orient this week.

During the last season many fans have commented how Cochrane would have been the perfect player in our midfield with his tough tackling, this despite his passing rarely ever finding it's man.
