McAuley set to join Crewe
Northern Ireland international, Gareth McAuley is set to join from league 2 side Lincoln City.
Teams including, Leicester, Nottingham Forest and Doncaster were said to be in the hunt to sign the tall defender, who is also a handful in the opposition box from set pieces(scoring 3 goals already this season), but
it looks like Dario Grady will secure his signature after McAuley agrees personal terms.
Lincoln's chairman of football Ray Trew confirmed an agreement was in place. 'Both Gareth and his agent have been informed and both appear to be happy at the news.'
Crewe fans will be hoping McAuley(26) will help plug the hole in Crewe's leaky defence.
