Match Preview: Crewe Alexandra vs Rotherham United
Today we host League 1 side Rotherham United in the 1st Round of the FA Cup. So far this season, they sit in 7th in League 1 having won 8, drew 1 and lost 7 in the league, beat Lincoln City before losing to Premier League side Hull City (both by the 2-1 scoreline) and they have lost to Manchester City`s academy side and Chesterfield, the former on penalties, in the EFL Trophy.
During the summer, they have made 9 permanent signings with former Crewe loanee Semi Ajayi joining permanently from Cardiff following a loan spell last season and the other signings include the experienced Darren Potter and David Ball from MK Dons and Fleetwood Town respectively.
They have also made 4 loan signings with striker Kieffer Moore and right-back Josh Emmanuel, both from Ipswich Town, goalkeeper Marek Rodak from Fulham and midfielder Richie Towell from Brighton & Hove Albion. All have signed for the whole season.

There are no new injury or suspension worries for David Artell ahead of this cup game with James Jones is back in training and at least a couple of weeks away whilst George Ray is still a couple of months away from returning.
Rotherham United Team News:
Left-back Joe Mattock and midfielder Lee Frecklington both miss out whilst Jon Taylor could start after returning from injury as manager Paul Warne could shuffle his pack looking towards the league game with Doncaster next weekend.

The last meeting between the sides came almost 4 years ago at New York Stadium. Brad Inman gave the visitors the lead in the 12th minute before Kieran Agard levelled on the half-hour. Kelvin Mellor scored to give Crewe the lead again just after the hour before Lee Frecklington scored twice, either side of an Alex Revell strike to give Rotherham the lead.
