There have been four competitive fixtures on September 11th in the 25-year period, taking place in 2001, 2004, 2005 and 2010.
The game in 2001 saw Crewe Alexandra host Rushden & Diamonds at the Alexandra Stadium in the EFL Cup. There were no goals within the 90 minutes but goals from Dave Walton and Shaun Smith gave the hosts a 2-0 win.

A year later saw Crewe host Derby County in the league. Mark Rivers gave the hosts the lead before Morten Bisgaard levelled the game just after the break.

The final game saw the Alex host Bury in 2010. A 3rd minute Shaun Miller goal gave Crewe an early lead before David Artell added a second 15 minutes later with Luke Murphy completing the scoring in the 71st minute.
