Varney 'One of Many Possibilites'

Derby boss Billy Davies has refused to rule out a move for Crewe striker Luke Varney. The in-form striker has bagged 13 goals and provided 6 assists this season, culminating in reported interest from Bolton, Derby, Portsmouth, Southampton and Aston Villa.

However, Rams boss Billy Davies admitted to the Derby Evening Telegraph that Varney was 'one of many possibilites'. However, despite projected losses of 1.6m this year, Crewe are likely to want a sizeable sum for the 24-year old.

At pompey we get linked with A-Z all the time. So V is now accounted for. We won't buy him.
