Semmy Snubs New Deal

Crewe have placed Jon Otsemobor on the transfer list after the full back rejected a new contract. The 23-year old has indicated his desire to see out his contract and leave on a free, but boss Dario Gradi is keen to recoup some money for the disloyal full-back. Otsemobor turns 24 in March, and as such, no compensation would be payable is Otsemobor joined another club on a free next summer.

Having spent time on loan at Crewe whilst still at Liverpool, Otsemobor snubbed Crewe's offer of a permanent deal in the belief that he would win another deal with Liverpool. However, Liverpool released him that summer, but Crewe rejected the full-back's request to return as the club had signed Darren Moss. A torrid 6 months at Rotherham ensued, before Crewe took a chance on Otsemobor and handed him an 18-month deal. However, despite consistent first team football since then, Otsemobor has once again showed a lack of respect and loyalty to the club, and will be sold in January if there are any takers.

Manager Dario Gradi criticised Otsemobor, whilst also voicing concern at the trend of players wanting to see out their contracts. Gradi said, "We rely more and more on the sales of our players and if everyone took his line then we would be in the non-league within a few years. I feel like he has done the dirty on us."

Crewe may sign his replacement as early as next week. Full-back Patrick Noubissie has been on trial of late, and the free agent is expected to be handed a short-term deal either until the January transfer window or until the summer.
