Crewe set for shake-up

Disconsolate manager Steve Davis admitted it's time to shake things up after a sixth straight defeat for Crewe Alexandra - this time to Rochdale in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

"If I can get the backing and get some players in then I'm going to do that" - Steve Davis
Matt Done, Peter Vincenti and Calvin Andrew scored the goals in a very comfortable 3-0 victory for the visitors in their Johnstone's Paint Trophy first round tie at Gresty Road.

"I'm stuck for words," Davis admitted to Crewe's official website. "If I can get the backing and get some players in then I'm going to do that because they need some help and we'll struggle with that group.

"We went through it last season, and we're going through it this season - there's a common denominator there and it has become very difficult," he warned. "As we did last season when we got some reinforcements in, if I do that I'll have to get some out because of the money side of it, but it's time to act."
