Crewe Alexandra have released Cameron Lancaster and Ibra Sekajja following recent trials.

"We just did not feel he was any better than what we have got here at the moment" - Steve Davis
Striker Lancaster featured in both of the friendlies against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Chester but struggled to make any real impact.

The 21-year-old had recently been freed by Tottenham Hotspur after finding his progress restricted by injury.

Meanwhile, fellow forward Sekajja, also 21 and previously of Crystal Palace, played for an hour in the defeat at Macclesfield Town.

"Cameron we felt wasn't ready to go in the team at the moment," manager Steve Davis told the Stoke Sentinel. "He needs some time to get fit, he's been out of the game a long time and we felt there was a bit too much to do with him at the moment as we need players who are ready to come in to the team.

"Ibra was a great lad, he was fine, but again he's just got to find a way and find his level," he added. "But we just did not feel he was any better than what we have got here at the moment so we have allowed him to go on his way."
