Crewe wait on deal
Crewe Alexandra's young striker Max Clayton is still to give a final decision on a new contract at Gresty Road.
The Railwaymen are currently waiting for a response on the offer of a three-year deal to the England Under-19 international.
"We haven't given him any deadline. If he stays, great. He'll be a big part of the team," manager Steve Davis told BBC Radio Stoke. "We always wanted to keep developing him. We'd welcome him being here for the next three years. That's what he's been offered."
Clayton scored twice last season before a broken ankle in November ruled him out of action for five months.
Should he decide to move on, Crewe would be entitled to receive a transfer fee because he is under the age of 24.
