Crewe can upset odds

Assistant manager Neil Baker says Crewe Alexandra can definitely upset the odds next season.

"Our aim every year is to try to improve and we didn't do that last year" - Neil Baker
The Railwaymen have already been listed as joint-favourites to go down following their struggle to avoid relegation last term. But that only serves to make them even more determined to prove their doubters wrong.

"When you are tipped to go down it just makes you realise the size of the club and, more importantly, the size of the league we are in," Baker told the Crewe Chronicle. "It is the third tier of English football but there are some really massive clubs in it and I think we do well to stay in this league.

"Our aim every year is to try to improve and we didn't do that last year," he added. "In our first season back in League One we got 60 points but I believe we had a lot of luck that year and I thought the next season would be harder, and it proved to be. Next season will be just as difficult but that doesn't mean to say we will be down there."
