Cardiff Cash to Affect Crewe Duo?

Cardiff's interest in Billy Jones and David Vaughan was dismissed by Dario Gradi recently, claiming Cardiff couldn't afford the duo. At the time, due to their debts, it was true that Cardiff didn't have the cash to meet Crewe's asking price for either player.

However, with Peter Risdale taking over the Championship outfit, amidst a cash injection which will see their debts cleared and extra funds available for players and a new stadium, the prospect of two of Crewe's brightest youngsters being Cardiff-bound seems more likely.

Much depends on whether Cardiff's recent interest in the players stems from Sam Hammam or Dave Jones. With Dave Jones still very much at the helm, the new funds would enable him to buy either or both or Crewe's youngsters should he wish.

Sam Hamamm has been the instigator-in-chief regards Billy Jones and joked he should have bought a Crewe season-ticket but I'm certain Dave Jones would have expressed an interest first.
