Maynard the Man of the Month

Crewe youngster Nicky Maynard has been named the League One Powerade Player of the Month for September. Maynard scored 4 goals during the month, and having reached 9 goals for the season, will hope to get into double figures on Saturday against Bristol City.

Chris Kamara, Chairman of the Powerade Player of the Month Awards panel said: 'Nicky Maynard is the latest in a long line of players to have come through Crewe's famous youth academy. 'He's a striker with great confidence and finishing ability and looks to have a really bright future in the game. 'If he keeps up the form he has shown in September, I'm sure it will not be too long before some of the big clubs start monitoring his progress more closely.'

A decent month for him, the goals have dried up for him in the last couple of games though.
