Crewe Alexandra's latest signing Brad Inman spoke of his delight after the agreement of a three-year deal with Newcastle United.

"I had to keep it quiet which was hard because I was so happy" - Brad Inman
The 21-year-old has been an Alex target throughout the summer following an impressive loan stay in which he netted eight times in 26 games last season.

However, it has taken until a fourth and final offer from Crewe before the Magpies agreed on a compensation figure and avoided the need of a transfer tribunal to decide the issue.

"I got the call yesterday [Monday] letting me know the clubs have agreed the fee but I had to keep it quiet which was hard because I was so happy," Inman told the Crewe Chronicle. "Now I can get back to playing football. I am here for three years and I have to push on.

"No matter what happened I wanted to come to Crewe. There may have been other interest but I didn't look into it because I had my mind set," he continued. "I don't see it as a step down, I am at an age when I am not bothered leaving a Premier League club I am just happy I'm here now."
