Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis was expecting a tough challenge from neighbours Chester at the Deva Stadium this weekend.

"I saw a lot of them last season and they are decent side" - Steve Davis
Their latest opponents are certainly on the rise after a really difficult few years and celebrated promotion back into the Conference Premier at the end of last season.

"It should be a really competitive game at Chester and one we are looking forward to," Davis told Crewe's official website. "I saw a lot of them last season when Brendan [Daniels] was on loan with them and they are decent side.

"They have had a very difficult five or so years but with the help of the Supporters Trust they are on the way back," he added. "Their aim will be to get back into the league."
