Skipper Luke Murphy was rich in praise for his former club after completing a move to Championship side Leeds United.

"I can't speak highly enough of Crewe and what they've done for me" - Luke Murphy
The 23-year-old midfielder finally ended speculation over his future by signing a three-year deal at Elland Road following an undisclosed fee being agreed between the two clubs.

However, Leeds also had to hold off competition from both Blackburn Rovers and Wolverhampton Wanderers for the former Crewe academy product.

"I can't speak highly enough of Crewe and what they've done for me," Murphy told Leeds' official website. "There's people there past and present who have made me into what I am today, and I can't thank them enough.

"They have nurtured me into being here," he continued. "The amount of players that Crewe have produced isn't a fluke, and that is great
credit to the coaches who are there and some of who aren't. They don't get the credit they perhaps deserve."
