Striker back for Alex

Crewe Alexandra striker Mathias Pogba is back home after spending time in Italy recovering from thigh surgery.

The 22-year-old suffered the problem during a 1-0 victory over Preston North End back in April. He still managed sixteen goals in 41 appearances during his debut season at Gresty Road.

Although not yet able to take part in a full training session, Pogba remains confident of being fit for the start of the new campaign.

Elsewhere, defender Gregor Robertson expects to similarly recover from an Achilles tendon injury in time for the big kick-off.
