Crewe Alexandra are preparing to raid the non-league circles again in a bid to find another Mathias Pogba.

"We are always looking for players who have shone in the Conference" - Steve Davis
Pogba scored sixteen goals last term to finish as leading scorer at Gresty Road having only arrived from Conference side Wrexham the previous summer.

Aldershot Town striker Danny Hylton currently heads their wanted list while Lincoln City's Vadaine Oliver is another name being linked.

"These lads have come from non-league and we are always looking for players who have shone in the Conference that we might be able to afford," manager Steve Davis told This is Staffordshire. "It is difficult for us to bring in established players from League One or the Championship that are out of contract. We just can't afford them.

"Our other options are the Conference or young Premier League players that we might be able to bring in on loan," he added. "Those are the areas we have to concentrate our efforts at the moment because that's where we are financially."

Meanwhile, Crewe have announced a behind-closed-doors pre-season friendly at Scottish double-winners Celtic.
