Crewe Alexandra's Max Clayton struck an equaliser as England Under-19s drew 1-1 with Georgia.

England had earlier fallen behind after only seven minutes of their first UEFA Elite qualifier in the Breevenstadion in Belgium.

The opening goal arrived immediately following Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford being dismissed for illegally preventing a goalscoring opportunity. Giorgi Pantsulaia took advantage from the subsequent free-kick to earn his side the lead.

But Clayton levelled seven minutes from half-time before eventually being replaced with seventeen minutes remaining by Newcastle United's Adam Campbell. Teimurazi Markozashvili fired against the crossbar late on for Georgia.
