Crewe Alexandra goalkeeper Steve Phillips is keenly looking towards the pre-season campaign.

"Testing ourselves against a team like Aston Villa will be great" - Steve Phillips
The Alex have already arranged a date with Premier League Aston Villa and a return to the club for former skipper Ashley Westwood on Friday 26th July (kick-off 7.30pm).

"I think we have some superb pre-season fixtures and they should be brilliant for the club and the supporters," Phillips told Crewe's official website. "It gives us something to look forward to already and work towards.

"The fixtures are good, and there are one or two to be added to that as well," he continued. "Testing ourselves against a team like Aston Villa will be great. We need that level of testing and it will great to see Westy at Gresty Road again."
