Whalley on Trial

Crewe have taken Witton Albion winger Shaun Whalley on trial. The 20-year old winger featured in Witton's 5-1 win over Tranmere in the Cheshire Senior Cup on Tuesday night, and has been in good form throughout the season alongside Crewe's Adam Warlow who is on loan at Witton.

Witton manager Jim Vince said, 'I have no idea whether Crewe will be interested in him, but from my perspective the trial will only do him good. If gives him a chance and it gives Crewe the opportunity of one of the best young talents around.'

Meanwhile, Dario commented, 'I believe there is a bit of interest in him from other clubs, but Witton's manager got in touch and asked if we'd have a look at him.
