Crewe look to finish the job

Crewe Alexandra are potentially just ninety minutes away from visiting Wembley for a second successive season as they welcome Coventry City to Gresty Road in their Johnstone's Paint Trophy Northern Area final second-leg this evening (kick-off 7.30pm).

"I always planned for it to take two-legs to complete the job and that hasn't changed" - Steve Davis
The Alex take what should really prove a decisive three-goal lead into the game from the first-leg at the Ricoh Arena earlier this month and have already defeated the Sky Blues at home in the league this season.

Added to that the hosts have a full squad available to select from after defender Matt Tootle was declared fit having recovered from the ankle injury that kept him out of the recent defeat to Bournemouth.

"We're not getting carried away with the lead we have," manager Steve Davis told BBC Radio Stoke. "You can't dream of Wembley until you're there and we are certainly not there yet. I always planned for it to take two-legs to complete the job and that hasn't changed."

Coventry have lost the services of manager Mark Robins since the first game after he decided to move on to fill the vacancy at Huddersfield Town, and therefore arrive under the caretaker leadership of development coach Lee Carsley.

But they were victorious in the league against Bury at the weekend and with Blair Adams (knee) still on the sidelines, could decide to go again with the side that emerged with a 2-0 win at Gigg Lane.

Whoever comes through the tie will face either Southend United or Leyton Orient in the final at Wembley Stadium. The Shrimpers currently lead that 1-0 and have home advantage in the second-leg this evening.
