Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis refused to blame his players after a narrow 2-1 defeat to new leaders Bournemouth at Gresty Road.

"They felt robbed in the dressing room because a couple of decisions have cost us" - Steve Davis
Brett Pitman scored twice for the visitors - taking his personal tally between the two clubs to five this season - either side of a Mathias Pogba equaliser. However, the home side were once again on the end of a very soft penalty award.

"I told them to get their heads up because we have played one of the best teams in our league and deserved to get something from it," Davis told Crewe's official website. "They felt robbed in the dressing room because a couple of decisions have cost us.

"It changed the game and I couldn't see what the penalty was given for. I think everyone saw that it was a soft penalty and their players didn't appeal for it," he added. "The second one came after we switched off. Kelvin [Mellor] has played well this evening but just switched off and Pitman has finished it well."
