No pressure from fans - Clayton

Crewe Alexandra striker Max Clayton has revealed he never feels under pressure from the fans to score goals.

"They have always wanted me to do well and they know it takes time" - Max Clayton
The teenager ended a three-month goal drought in the recent Johnstone's Paint Trophy win against Bradford City and later admitted he had rather experienced a shortage of self-belief during that period.

"I've never felt pressure from fans," Clayton explained to the Crewe Chronicle. "They have always wanted me to do well and they know it takes time for a young player.

"But the pressure I put on myself - perhaps that is something I need to step back from," he conceded. "You can learn when you are not in the team and I feel I have done that. I know goals are important but performances are too."
