Job done for Davis

It was certainly a case of mission accomplished for manager Steve Davis as his Crewe Alexandra side fought back to overcome Bradford City 4-1 in their Johnstone's Paint Trophy northern area semi-final at Gresty Road.

"Tonight was real tough game for us and the scoreline has flattered us a little bit" - Steve Davis
The visitors went into an early lead courtesy of Kyle Reid to threaten further cup success for the Bantams. But Byron Moore equalised just before the break and Max Clayton, Brad Inman and Chuks Aneke added to it during the later stages.

Crewe now take on Coventry City over two-legs in the northern final of the competition next month.

"Tonight was real tough game for us and the scoreline has flattered us a little bit," Davis admitted to Crewe's offcial website. "You could see the confidence and momentum that they have gained from their cup-run.

"Coventry will be a good challenge now," he continued. "We are excited about the opportunity, but I have told the players that the main thing for us now is the league, and the most important game for them is on Saturday."
