Defender ready to mark Bantams' card

Crewe Alexandra centre-back Mark Ellis is hoping to achieve what Arsenal and Wigan Athletic already failed to do and knock Bradford City out of a cup competition.

"They will be out to cause another little upset against us, that's for sure" - Mark Ellis
The Alex take on the Bantams later this evening with a place in the northern area final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy against Coventry City next month currently up for grabs.

League Two giant-killers Bradford have already proved to be true cup specialists this season and incredibly find themselves just one game away from the League Cup final after sensationally defeating Aston Villa 3-1 in their semi-final first-leg only last week.

That followed their tremendous earlier victories against both Arsenal and Wigan in the same competition as the West Yorkshire side maintained their unbeatable recent record in penalty shoot-outs.

"They are certainly not going to be pushovers, you just have to look at what they have done to Arsenal and Villa," Ellis admitted to This is Staffordshire. "They will be out to cause another little upset against us, that's for sure. One-off cup matches like this are always a bit unpredictable, but hopefully we can get past them."
