No pressure on me - Davis

Manager Steve Davis has stated there is absolutely no pressure on him to sell any more of his leading lights at Crewe Alexandra.

"I'm not put under any pressure to have to sell" - Steve Davis
The Alex have already lost talented pair Nick Powell and Ashley Westwood to the Premiership since achieving promotion at the end of last season, while skipper Luke Murphy has also been regularly linked with a big move away from Gresty Road.

But with already around 8m being added to the club's finances as a result of those departures, Davis insisted the likes of Murphy would only be allowed to leave if it was in everybody's best interests.

"I would think with Nick and Ash's sale we'll be ok," Davis admitted to the Crewe Chronicle. "At the moment I wouldn't have thought we were in need of it [selling] and as a manager I've always thought it`s important to keep your players as long as you can.

"I know we have to sell to survive and that's always been the case at Crewe," he added. "I'm not put under any pressure to have to sell but it's a known fact that when we have talented lads they'll move on - as long as we get the right sort of money for them we don't stand in their way."
