Davis praise as Alex toil

Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis paid tribute to the hard work of his side after they were rewarded with a late winner against a determined Bury.

"They kept going and a little bit of quality has won us the game" - Steve Davis
On loan Brad Inman netted for the second successive game from Luke Murphy's 88th minute cross to finally decide a tight affair at Gresty Road.

"Our hard work, effort and ability to keep going got us through today and I've always said that is vital when the players as individuals are not up to the mark," Davis told Crewe's official website. "I have to be honest and say they were not at that mark today but they kept going and a little bit of quality has won us the game.

"Luke has put over a great cross and Brad, who was our best player on the day, has got in there and finished, so our two midfielders have combined again to win the game," he added. "Brad is a match winner because we know he can score goals."
