Alex warning for weekend

Crewe Alexandra moved into the top half of the table last week and will be hoping to continue their rise when entertaining struggling Bury this weekend.

"When you are the favourites for the game, it can become frustrating when you don`t score early" - Neil Baker
Defender Matt Tootle is available for a recall having served his suspension while on loan striker Lauri Dalla Valle's stay from Fulham has been extended. Fellow marksman AJ Leitch-Smith and Kelvin Mellor have both recovered from injury and return to the squad.

That is a timely boost as midfielder Abdul Osman twisted his right knee in the recent win at Preston and Ollie Turton has suffered a thigh injury. Both should recover in time to face improving AFC Bournemouth the following weekend.

"Bury is a dangerous games for us, mainly because of the expectations on us," assistant-manager Neil Baker conceded to Alex's official website. "We are expected to win and our home supporters will expect us to win and with that comes different problems.

"When you are the favourites for the game, it can become frustrating when you don't score early," he warned. "If we don't score early then it is imperative that we remain patient and the crowd play their part in that to. They have to stay with us because we don't mind winning the game in the second half."

Bury must check the fitness of on loan pair Ethan Ebanks-Landell (shin) and Zac Thompson (hamstring) but are already missing Andy Bishop, Adam Lockwood and Phil Picken.
