Manager Steve Davis has been very pleasantly surprised at just how well on loan Brad Inman has done at Crewe Alexandra.

"We didn't know what to expect at first but the people at Newcastle rate him very highly" - Steve Davis
The 20-year-old was brought in from Premier League Newcastle United last month and proceeded to make his recent debut in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy victory against Doncaster Rovers.

His performance in that was then sufficient to keep his place and both score and claim an assist in the latest 3-1 win at Preston North End.

"He's done brilliantly," Davis told the Crewe Chronicle. "We didn't know what to expect at first but the people at Newcastle rate him very highly.

"It was a question of how we were going to play him," he added. "I felt playing a three was going to be better for him and I think he's grown into the games."
