Striker on the way back

Striker AJ Leitch-Smith is making good progress as he continues his recovery from injury.

"Whenever you ask AJ he replies with two-weeks but he is making positive progress" - Steve Davis
The 22-year-old hasn't featured since damaging ankle ligaments against Portsmouth last month. Prior to that he had already helped himself to four goals this season.

But now he has started some light jogging and it is hoped he will return to action sooner rather than later.

"We only really have AJ out with his ankle and he is pushing on now," manager Steve Davis told Crewe's official website. "He is running again so that is a positive sign. Hopefully, he will be fit soon. We joke that whenever you ask AJ he replies with two-weeks but he is making positive progress."
