Davis pleased with famed Academy

Manager Steve Davis is pleased to witness the level of talent still coming through at Crewe Alexandra.

"The Academy has always been an integral part of this club and what we are trying to achieve" - Steve Davis
That follows him being impressed after attending the Alex's midweek FA Youth Cup win against Carlisle United. Billy Waters, who has already been on the substitutes bench for the senior side this season, scored a tremendous winner to add to Brandon Moores' opener.

Meanwhile, another top Academy product, winger Ryan Colclough, recently signed his first professional deal with the club following a couple of first-team games.

"The Academy has always been an integral part of this club and what we are trying to achieve and I have always had the view that if they are good enough then their age doesn't really matter," Davis told Crewe's official website. "I think that is the fairest way to view it and we have been pleased with the progress of our younger ones."
