Davis chucks weight behind Arsenal teenager

Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis still has plenty of faith in on loan Chuks Aneke despite criticism of the Arsenal teenager from the terraces.

"He looks a 'loper' and doesn't look like he is travelling fast, even though he is" - Steve Davis
The nineteen-year-old was booed by a section of supporters, who appeared to be clearly questioning his attitude during the weekend home loss to Yeovil Town.

However, Davis considered him to be the Alex's best player during the second forty-five minutes of what turned into their third home defeat of the season.

"He made two big errors within a minute, and maybe that took away from some of the good things he did for some people," Davis told the
Crewe Chronicle . "But he was our best player second half. Just because he is not a little 'ratter' covering a big of area, you can get drawn into thinking he is not actually doing anything.

"But if you weight up his impact, he put through three or four great through balls and he was on the end of two great chances himself," he argued. "He is trying - believe me. His style doesn't help. He looks a 'loper' and doesn't look like he is travelling fast, even though he is."
