Crewe Alexandra won't be maintaining their recent interest in former midfielder Andy Bond.

"He picked up a groin injury that was also affecting his hip and that has set him back" - Steve Davis
The 26-year-old one-time Crewe trainee has spent the past month on loan from Colchester United at Gresty Road.

However, that arrangement ended on Sunday evening and Alex manager Steve Davis has opted not to try and extend it. Bond managed five appearances until a combination of a groin and hip injuries ruled him out of the last couple of games.

"Andy has gone back to Colchester," Davis confirmed to Crewe's official website. "He picked up a groin injury that was also affecting his hip and that has set him back."
