'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Davis urges winger to push on

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis has challenged winger Michael West to regularly establish himself in the senior team.

"He is still adjusting to this level of football but he is a good athlete" - Steve Davis
The former Ebbsfleet United forward was handed a full debut ahead of the midweek visit of Swindon Town and laid on the first of Byron Moore's two goals in a very welcome 2-1 victory.

West had been sidelined by heel and ankle injuries since arriving at Gresty Road over the summer until appearing as a late substitute against Walsall last week.

"We were asking a lot of Michael against Swindon because he has only recently come back from injury and it was his first start," Davis told Crewe's official website. "Now he has to push on and build on that. He is still adjusting to this level of football but he is a good athlete."
