Davis searches for home reward

Crewe Alexandra are back on familiar ground after three successive away games when entertaining Swindon Town at Gresty Road on Tuesday evening.

"We need to be picking up points at home" - Steve Davis
The Alex are likely to be without Max Clayton and on loan Andy Bond because of groin injuries. Therefore fellow loanee Chuks Aneke is expected to be recalled from the bench after scoring a late equaliser in the weekend draw at Walsall.

That game also featured a welcome first appearance for the club from summer recruit Michael West after finally recovering from heel and ankle problems.

Both AJ Leitch-Smith (ankle) and Ryan Colclough (fractured jaw) remain on the sidelines for the hosts.

"We need to be picking up points at home," manager Steve Davis told Crewe's official website. "We know it will be a challenge against Swindon but we got a point on Saturday with a last minute equaliser and with the way the game went it felt like a win, so we should have gained some confidence from that."

Swindon are without defender Nathan Thompson after suffering an ankle injury in their 1-1 weekend draw with Scunthorpe United.

The Robins also had Aden Flint sent-off in that game and he serves a one-match suspension, while calf injuries account for Federico Bessone and Andy Williams alongside Alan Navarro (knee).
