Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis hopes to make home form count after witnessing his side fight back well at the weekend.

"It will be good to be back at Gresty Road with our home fans behind us" - Steve Davis
The Alex were trailing 2-0 inside the first half-hour at Walsall on Saturday before eventually claiming a welcome point courtesy of an injury-time equaliser at the Banks's Stadium.

Following their exploits on their travels, Crewe now return to base for their next couple of games with Swindon Town on Tuesday evening being followed by Yeovil Town at the weekend.

"It is nice to be back at home," Davis admitted to Crewe's official website. "We have had a few away games of late and been on the road a bit, so it will be good to be back at Gresty Road with our home fans behind us.

"They were fantastic at Walsall on Saturday and they were singing and behind the lads all afternoon," he added. "They stayed behind right to the end because they thought something might happen and it did."

Crewe recover for victory

Crewe Alexandra came from behind for a first win in sixteen games and to drag Doncaster Rovers down into League Two with them for next season.

Kick-off was delayed by half-an-hour due to a waterlogged playing surface and Tommy Rowe gave the visitors the lead through a deflected strike.

However, youngster Callum Ainley equalised with his first senior goal before the break and Marcus Haber and substitute Brad Inman added second-half efforts.
