Duo miss Hartlepool game

Crewe Alexandra will again be without midfielder Abdul Osman and winger Byron Moore for the visit of struggling Hartlepool United this weekend.

"Hartlepool have good players and we will have to be a lot better to get a result" - Steve Davis
While the pair have both resumed training following recent knocks, they won't be available for tomorrow but still have an outside chance of recovering in time for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie at Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday evening.

The Alex are also set to be missing Adam Dugdale (back) and Michael West (heel), although they too are back on the training ground.

Hartlepool were comfortably despatched in the opening game of the season when Crewe ran out easy 5-0 winners at Gresty Road in the Capital One Cup.

But manager Steve Davis was once again warning his charges to take absolutely nothing for granted, especially following the disappointing midweek home defeat to Oldham Athletic.

"Hartlepool will be the same as Oldham. They will come here and battle and scrap and work hard for a result," he told Crewe's official website. "We have to be ready for that and improve on what we did on Tuesday night.

"Hartlepool have good players and we will have to be a lot better to get a result," Davis added. "It will be a tough game and our previous result against them won`t count for too much."

The visitors could recall Simon Walton (ankle) following a successful run-out for their reserves, while Jonathan Franks, Paul Murray and Steve Howard should be fit despite suffering knocks in their late midweek 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United.
