Alex snap up former midfielder
Crewe Alexandra have snapped up former midfielder Andy Bond on a one-month loan from struggling League One rivals Colchester United.
Wigan-born Bond originally developed through the club's Academy at Gresty Road but never managed to graduate into their starting line-up.
The 26-year-old subsequently moved on to Barrow and enjoyed four successful years with the Conference side.
He then became the first signing of U's boss John Ward in the summer of 2010 and scored eight times in his first season at Layer Road. Bond went on to increase that tally to twelve in 96 games in total.
However, new mentor Ward paid for his club's poor start to the season and lost his job earlier this week after just over two years in charge.
Bond goes straight into the Alex's squad for the trip to MK Dons tomorrow and is also available for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
