Davis draws pride in Cumbria

Manager Steve Davis was proud of taking another point following a scoreless draw with Carlisle United at Brunton Park.

"It was a well deserved point and I was proud of the the performance" - Steve Davis
Both sides found the woodwork during the second-half with two-goal weekend scorer AJ Leitch-Smith going closest for the visitors.

"It was a well deserved point and I was proud of the the performance and the way we defended," Davis told Crewe's official website. "We could have possibly won the game with us having a couple of good chances and AJ hitting the crossbar.

"They then came at us at the start of the second half but I thought we weathered that storm well and were strong in our defending when those
crosses were coming in," he added. "They also hit the post just after AJ's great effort, so it was fairly even."

The result leaves both clubs currently in mid-table but only a couple of points outside the play-offs.

Crewe are next in action at home to Leyton Orient at the weekend.
