Alex ready to extend run

Crewe Alexandra are looking to extend their recent unbeaten three-game run when travelling to Carlisle United this evening.

But the visitors are missing on loan Arsenal midfielder Chuks Ameka after being sent-off on his full debut against Stevenage at the weekend.

He was expected to be replaced by Matt Tootle, who is set for a first start this season after so far being confined to coming off the bench.

Forwards Mathias Pogba, Michael West and Harry Bunn remain on the sidelines but Abdul Osman and Harry Davis are both declared available.

"It will be another tough game but one, we will be looking forward to," manager Steve Davis told Crewe's official website. "It is up to us to perform and if we can and defend well then there is no reason why we cannot get another positive result and continue on this little run."

The Cumbrians are similarly without a couple of players through suspension. James Berrett collected his fifth caution of the season
during the weekend home draw with Swindon Town while fellow midfielder Liam Noble completes a three-match ban.

Manager Greg Abbott was hoping to bring in a new loan striker ahead of the game with Huddersfield Town's Kallum Higginbotham his leading target.
